Global Warming : Is it getting better? - Yuri, Andrew, Mion

We expected that the global warming is getting worse.

We would like to explan about why it is happened, what is happened by it and solutions.

                                                                https://t h.bing.com/th/id/OIP.fF8f9QiH7EYzr4qdj1Qc1wAAAA?rs=1&pid=ImgDetMain

We already know that global warming is caused by greenhouse gases, so we looked at what causes greenhouse gases. Several reasons are given.

The biggest reason is electricity, 30%. We predicted that's because everyone uses electricity every day. When electricity is produced, we burn carbon, including fossil fuels to power our generators. That produces a lot of carbon dioxide. Next is transport. We produce carbon dioxide by burning fossil fuels. On the other hand, the smallest causes are construction and industrial processes. The reason for building is that people need to control temperature, such as air conditioning and ventilation. These are powered by electricity. Industrial process is that when people who work in the factory make some machine and goods, a lot of energy is used which is made by burning.

As you can see, most of the reasons are related to burning things.

Now we are talking about the effect of global warming. The effects of global warming are very diverse.

For example, there is

  • Ocean acidification
  • Habitat destruction
  • Intensified weather events
  • Global fish stock decline
  • Glacial retreat
  • Human health problems

I want to talk about how it affects human health. Look at the graph below. Air pollution caused by global warming can lead to cardiovascular and respiratory problems. Changes in vector ecology can increase the spread of infectious diseases like malaria. If clean water and enough food are not provided, it can cause malnutrition, which can increase infant mortality rates. Extreme heat can cause heat-related illnesses and deaths among vulnerable groups. Severe weather changes can affect birth rates in the long term and lead to population decline.

This graph shows the carbon dioxide emissions per capita in representative countries. Global warming is happening year by year due to the increase of carbon dioxide in the world. So, I would talk about some solutions to decrease mounts of carbon dioxide.

1.     Reduce standby Power

2.     Review the temperature setting of the air conditioner

3.     Use LEDs

4.     Use environmentally friendly electricity

5.     Use public transportation

6.     Use eco-friendly bags

7.     Proactively buy products with simplified packaging

8.     Reduce the amount of time spent in the shower

9.     Use means of transportation with less environmental impact

10.  No food loss and reducing the percentage of meat consumption

One person cannot make a tremendous change, but each one of us can lead to a solution y being aware of the situation and taking action.
