The Ideal School: My Vision -- Riko

Since before, some people consider that academic subjects (math, science, biology, history, geography, etc.) are the most important. In addition to this, these days, the 4Cs (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication) are regarded as essential. Although it is true that these subjects and perspectives are extremely important for life, I suppose that it is also significant to learn skills and abilities at a school to live independently.

This kind of school would have high quality of teaching about housework as much as academic school. Students at the school could learn how to cook, grow plants, make and fix things with some equipment and tools such as kitchens, electric drills, etc.). One of the advantages of this style is that the students would not tend to be bored because they can learn about many fields widely. Moreover, these skills are essential to live by oneself. One of the reasons of this is that doing things by oneself could encourage environmental sustainability. For instance, people would continue to use things made by themselves and they would not waste things by fixing them. However, there is a problem to have the school, some people say students should learn housework at home because their parents and guardians can teach them it. In spite of the problem, this system can be effective. This is because they can acquire balanced skills extensively at the school.

In conclusion, learning life skills at a school could help to make a higher quality of life by not wasting so many things. I hope schools will focus on adopting the skills as well and people’s life will get better than present. This is my vision of ideal school.

  1. what is the purpose of education? what is the aim of school? what is the role of parent?
Within the rights guaranteed by the Constitution and within a free-market economy system, to live as members of society rather than as individuals, what must we know?

  2. Hi Riko 👋 Love your interesting idea, but personally, I think this school type should rather be more like an extracurricular classes. Because, yes I'm on the side which supports the idea that housework or living alone skills can be taught by parents, even though the ability to live independently is necessary but academic knowledge is not less important than it ^^

  3. I think it would be effective for parents because they could feel children's growth. We can never learn too much housework.

  5. I also think practical studies are very essential. In order to live alone or live apart from parents, getting to know about these things are very important!
