A Time When I Challenged a Belief -- Tsukino Watase
The Japanese saying "二兎追う者は一兎も得ず" and it translates to "A person who chases two rabbits will not even catch one". This is like "Stay focused on one goal" or "Do not try to do too many things at once". However my honoured teacher said to me "It could be also said that "A person who do not try to chase both absolutely can not cath both"".
When I was a child, I started to learn about modern ballet with my friends after school. Fourtunately, I could continue to learn it for 14 years. This experience is valuable memory for me because it made me stronger both mentally and physically. Actually, at first I just loved dancing, and it felt like I was just going to the ballet class to have fun. When I started junior high school, I had to decide whether to continue modern ballet or stop it. This is because I wanted to join a junior high students club and they only had one cultural club and few sports clubs. So I decided to join the volleyball club and also continue modern ballet on the other hand it was really hard.
My ballet teacher told me "it would be difficult to continue doing both, in addition the teacher was not feeling well, so my class would be closed". It made me shocked, but at that time, the teacher I wrote about at the beginning taught me that word. So I tryed tell my ballet teacher that I love dancing and I want to continue and do my best. And then my ballet teacher's mother was also a ballet teacher, so I decided continue in her class. Then I started to practice hard more on both balled and club activities and I gained many experience from these two activities.
From this experience I learned taking responsibility for my own decisions and failures and successes by taking on challenges lead to my growth. This experience was not only my skill, if it were not for people around me, I could not do my best.
I had a same kind of experience when I was a junior high school student. It was too busy and hard, but I continued both my junior high school club and rythmic gymnastics. That experience leaded to my personality the ''Don't to give up until the end'', so I was glad to continued at that time.
ReplyDeleteIt's good word for me that "A person who do not try to chase both absolutely can not both."
