A Problem I Have Solved -- Misaki

When I was 18 years old, I faced an extremely difficult situation in my life. I really wanted to pass the university examination which I attend to now because this university’s study abroad program was a perfect match for me. I got information when I was 17. I expected that my study grades at school were not so bad, so I would be able to pass the exam successfully.

However, I had a problem when I moved up to a new grade. I started preparing for my exam in March 2022. My high school teacher told me that if I still studied the same amount of time as before, I couldn’t pass the exam. I was disappointed but I began to study hard. I used to go to cram school after regular school and study there for six hours. Every Saturday and Sunday, I went there to study from 10am to 10pm. It was hard for me, but I did not want to give up on my goal. However, my grades still did not improve, so I cried repeatedly. Fortunately, my cram school teachers gave me valuable advice. They advised me not only on techniques for answering questions but also, supported me in terms of mental care. I talked to them about my worries regarding the exam and they listened carefully and helped me on how I could be more confident. Additionally, my mother always supported me by making delicious lunches and dinners. She also gave me encouraging messages with letters. This made me feel more relaxed andmotivated.

Finally, I passed the examination. I couldn’t believe it when I saw the results on the Internet. My goal came true, but I don’t think that I achieved it by myself. If there had been no people around me to support me, I would not have passed the exam. From this experience, I learned people do not achieve their goals without the support of others.
